Effect of Afghan Talkhak (Acroptilon Repens) Aqueous Extract on Blood Glucose Level in Diabetic Rats

The aim of this study is the evaluation effect Afghan talkhak (Acroptilon Repens) root aqueous extract on blood glucose level diabetic rats. Rats were randomly divided into 5 groups (1 Normal, 1 Diabetic and 3 groups). Experimental diabetes was induced by single-dose intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection streptozotocin (55 mg/kg) in extracts groups. 72 hour later, induction approved received Acroptilon Repens (200, 300, 400 i.p. administration for 15 days. body weight all measured baseline, 0, 5, 10 15th tolerance test had performed days 0 15. results showed that (200 300 could significantly decrease level, improve tolerance, as compared with group (P<0.0001). However, there not a significant difference among which mg/kg dose (P>0.05). In conclusion, possessed antihyperglycemic activity.
